Ferragudo

The village has many good restaurants serving traditional Portuguese cuisine, international, Irish/English, and Italian.There are plenty of shops, including a bakers, supermarket, butchers, paper shop (for those who need to keep abreast of what is going on around the world), gift shops and a small market where you can buy fresh produce and fresh fish.
	The second Sunday of every month the village square holds a car boot, where one mans cast off can become another’s treasure!!. During summer at weekends the square becomes alive with the sound of music, when the whole village community gets together to dance the night away.
Praia Grande beach is very safe as it sits inside the harbour walls, there are also 4 beach bar/restaurants, various water sport activities can be booked, sun beds, shades and pedalos are also available for hire. The impressive castle of São João de Arade seems to keep watch over the beach. The Church is worth a visit if only for the panoramic view of the harbour entrance and Portimão.
OUT OF THE WATER Zoomarine a fantastic day out for all the family, dolphin, parrot, and seal shows. *Horse riding* many centers along the Algarve Tennis Carvoeiro tennis club is only a 10 minute drive from Ferragudo. Golf To numerous to mention all by name, the nearest is Gramacho, 10 mins drive *Shopping* Guia shopping offers lost of shops, also a bowling alley and food hall. Happy Ostrich Farm Tavira Visit the farm and you’re sure to have fun, although Ostriches are the main attraction, the farm has other animals, including kangaroos, squirrels and many rabbits HOME	THINGS TO DO....... .......in and around Ferragudo ON THE WATER Boating take a boat along the coast to visit the caves See the dolphins…leaves from Portimao or Lagos, *Cruise* half day or full day cruises along the impressive Algarve coast, full day cruises offer lunch on a secluded beach. Trips usually leave from Portimao.
